Spider Cake Masterpiece

Aiden, Grandma Teresa and Aunt Brittany had a good idea to make a cake. Guess what Aiden chose? Of course, a spider. He also made Brynlee her own cake. They did such a cute job.

RSV

What are the odds that our 5 yr old gets severe RSV?
Poor Aiden has been really sick all week with an illness I thought only really effected infants and toddlers. I was wrong. It usually only effects children over the age of 2 like a normal cold. Since Monday, Aiden has struggled to breath and had fevers as high as 105 degrees. This picture of him today is a better day. He looks better. He still has to have breathing treatments every two hours, but it's a lot better from even last night when his fever reached 105 and he was breathing 40 breaths a minute (normal is 16). He has given us quite a scare. We tried everything to get his fever down from packing him with ice, a cool bath and taking him outside. The tylenol and motrin have not been helping much at all for some reason. We are so grateful for the prayers that have been said in his behalf .

Practice Makes Perfect

My cute kids are practicing being wonderful helpers for when their new brother or sister comes in about three and a half months. They both did so well. I was not even nervous for Aiden to hold Baby Marlie on his own. They can't wait till they can hold their baby.

A Fear Conquered

This is the much hated "football mask" that Aiden has been deathly afraid of since he was about 2. It has been put away for about 3 years and we brought it out this week to see if he was still scared of it. The movie below speaks for itself. However, he eventually got to the point where he could put the mask on. So we hope his fear is now conquered.

Sisters For Life

This is the night before Aimie had her baby. This is the last time we will all be together in a very long time. Aimie is moving to Pensacola, Florida for a year and a half and won't be back in Utah for who knows how long. This is all of us seated chronologically starting from me.

Uh Oh A Cavity

Aiden and Ben had a dentist apt this morning. They both had one 6 months ago and both were perfect. We haven't changed anything about our routine and Aiden comes out with 7 cavities all in between his teeth and Ben comes out with gum disease because of his diabetes. What the heck!!! seriously, 7 Cavities. The kid is NOT going to handle getting those filled very well. He is deathly afraid of shots. I would use that in fact to get him to brush and it worked every time. We even freakin floss, apparently not good enough. I think he just got my crappy teeth. I get cavities no matter how much I floss, brush or use listerine. Family curse.

Reverence

It's funny that sometimes we find ourselves becoming just like our parents even though we swore we wouldn't. Today at church Aiden was being very hyper and rambunctious in sacrament meeting so I told him "If you aren't reverent, you will have to go home and practice." Seriously we had that threat made to us as children every week. I absolutely hated it. I hated sitting there for 30 minutes practicing being reverent because I wasn't. Now I am doing it to my own kids. I didn't even think before I said it. FIGURES. I am sure my parents are laughing at this.
