Going Fast

I really need to update more.  This has been my worst year keeping up on my blog.  I am irritated at myself since I make my blog a book every year and publish it so my kids can look back at what we did.  The last 6 months have gone so fast that I can't keep up.  Aiden started 2nd grade at Clinton Elm.  He loves it, but still HATES to read.  He reads very well but gets bored fast.  Brynlee has really enjoyed watching Aiden at every recess since our backyard faces the school playground.  I have to say that I really enjoy seeing him a few times during the day and watching him play soccer with his friends.
Bryn has just been hanging out with Kynzee and me.  We do preschool on the computer.  We can't afford to put her in preschool, which is sad because she doesn't get any social interaction except for church, which is not a lot.  Bryn is still her stubborn adorable self with an attitude to prove it.  We still haven't been able to get her to say her own prayers except for maybe 5 times.  However, we have learned the more we push the more she refuses.  She loves to help me cook especially since I have been trying so many new things.
Kynzee is doing new things every day.  She can talk more and communicates very well on what she wants even if she can't say it.  She can say shoe, drink, Dora, and says go for Diego.  Dora and Diego are her favorite shows.  Those shows can occupy her for a long time.
My wonderful sister, Aimie had a beautiful baby girl on Sept 24 (which is Weston and Sharae's birthday).  She has lots of dark hair and looks quite a bit different then her other two girls.  Aimie and Aaron named her Kobi Rees Christinsen.  Such a cute name.  Aimie is coming this week for about 4 months while Aaron is deployed to the Middle East.  We are over excited.  There has never been a Halloween that we have not spent together.  Last year we went to Florida to visit her during that time.  I am glad that we are not breaking the tradition.  There will be pictures for all these events coming soon.

Happy 7th Birthday My Aiden

August 3, 2012
Aiden Benjamin Hatch turned 7 years old

Aiden asked for a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Cake.  So thanks to Pinterest I made an eight layer Reese's Cake.
It taste just like the peanut butter cup itself...see where Bryn already snitched at the chocolate.
It was the best tasting cake I have ever had.  The cake was chocolate (enhanced with Greek yogurt and pudding) with Peanut butter cream cheese butter cream in-between each of the 8 layers.  Then frosted with a peanut butter butter cream then covered in milk chocolate, garnished with the Reese's candy itself.

I just want you to notice Brynlee's silly face
Again the Bryn's face is soooo funny

I do not feel old enough to have a 7 year old.  We are so incredibly blessed to have this bubbly, loving, incredibly smart, and handsome boy in our family.
Aiden amazes me every day with his eagerness to learn.  He is so incredibly knowledgeable about spiders, it's really GROSS.  In the last month, Aiden has said some of the funniest things and asked some of the most random things.  He wanted to know what the inside of his bottom looked like.  I showed him a REAL picture of the rear-end and it's muscles.  We even discussed the names of the particular muscles.  He asked what the heart looked like in real life..again I showed him REAL pictures.  He always says how cool it is and then goes on his way or he asks even more detailed questions.  He wanted to see what a baby looked like in real life inside of the mom's tummy at the same age as my sister Aimie's baby (which was 30 weeks).  He just seems fascinated with so many different things.  From bugs to the human body.  The other day he cracked me up the most when he asked how babies get in the mom's tummy.  Stunned by the question and speechless, I told him to go ask his grandma.  The poor thing was nice enough to explain it to him for me.  I was very grateful for a "lesson" on what to say to my kids when they ask that kind of stuff.  Even though it was extremely awkward I'm sure, she did a wonderful job.  Thanks Teresa for saving my butt :)
At the beginning of the summer, I was trying to get Aiden to keep a journal like he did in kindergarten.  Not only would it help him obviously keep up his writing skills, I wanted him to be able to look back when he was my age at his journal.  I told him one day I would show him ALL of my 20 plus journals that I have kept since I was 7 years old or maybe 8.  Ben's parents like to get him something he needs for school every year, so when Ben's mom asked what he needed for school he replied with "You know what I would really want is a new journal.  We were all stunned by the response.  Although we haven't had enough money to put Aiden in any sports or activities, he has been learning how to play the piano.  I told him that if I learned when I was 4, then he could learn when he was 6.  He is doing a really good job when he is in the mood to not fight me.  He really doesn't like it until he listens to some of my brothers play that can play by ear and cannot read notes.  He watches them write their own songs and pound them out on the piano.  He  really enjoys watching me play some jon schmidt songs.  I catch him trying to play them by ear later.  The latest and final thing that cracks us all up is that he is constantly asking for a baby brother.  Now he has Brynlee doing the same thing.  Every day this week he has prayed for a baby brother.  Before he was just asking us, but now he is starting to take it to the Lord.  It doesn't matter how many times we tell him that we can't have any more babies.  He is not giving up on the matter.  He said that maybe if he asks Heavenly Father enough then he will get a baby brother someday soon.  He's going to be waiting FOREVER.  poor kid.  I love this little boy more then anything and I am so glad he came to our family.

Kynzee's 15 Month Checkup

First time on the swing by herself.

My sweet baby girl has turned 16 months.  I can't believe that in 2 months she will be in the nursery..if I decide to let her go.
Kynz has grown so much in the last month.  She weighs 17 pounds, which finally puts her on the chart at the 3rd percentile.  Her head is the 25th percentile, and her height is as well.  Her doctor is so glad that she is growing better.  We weren't too worried about it.  Kynzee is a very headstrong little girl.  She does not let Aiden or Brynlee take her toys away or tease her without letting out this blood curdling, high pitched scream.  She knows how to hold her own and she lets them know that.  She is also  very jelous of anyone that tries to hug mom or dad while she is in their arms.  She will yell and push the person away, even if it is mom or dad hugging the other.  She doesn't like people in her personal space.
She has learned to say many words the last few weeks.  AH OH, Thank you, More, Up, Mom, dad, Oh NO, as well as walking up and down the stairs (yikes)  When she gets hurt she will hold the spot that hurts.  I have never seen a baby this age do this.  I am glad she is like that because we don't have to play the guessing game on what hurts.  My baby needs to stop growing so fast.  I'm not ready for the baby years to end.

Highlights of Hogle Zoo

Ben took some pretty amazing pictures at the zoo this year with our amazing camera.  I really love how he captured each animal.  Kynzee loved it.  This was the first time that she really cared.
